Building a life off the beaten path means relying on neighbors and advance planning. Throughout the years many have found it challenging to locate service providers willing to trek up the mountain. The list below is intended to make the transition smoother for anyone who wishes to join our community. In addition to the lists below please feel free to ask your neighbors or contact the board with any questions you may have.

We are fortunate to have our own fire station located nearby on Monument Road. It is just up past Lower Sassafras Road on the left. This station is manned by the men and women in our community who are all volunteer and train on their own time. The community raised the funds over the years to build the Fire station and fund equipment. Without our continued support the station will not be able to maintain their current standard of care. Please consider donating and or volunteering to help keep our community safe. Without this fire station your insurance rates and response times would significantly increase.
